Why we won't be quick

45 to 60 days, start to finish.

A Sita Sootra saree is woven on a handloom, dyed by hand, then painted line by line and colour by colour. Each stage waits for the one before it, and one slipped line can mean starting that stage again. So we don't hurry.

The making

Five stages, each one by hand.
